Available Talks
Talks can be delivered in a one-hour plenary session style or as a 75–90-minute workshop. Talks will be interactive and practical with participants walking away inspired and equipped to lead more effectively. The talks below are available or a custom talk can be developed for your organization or event. Every talk will be a combination of education and inspiration founded in evidence.
Organizations can also do a half-day or full day retreat if they want to do multiple workshops.
The Power of Caring in Healthcare Leadership
Overview of the book, The Prescription for Caring in Healthcare Leadership: Creating a Culture of Compassion and Excellence. Participants will be introduced to the ideas in the book including the data behind caring in leadership. Using stories and examples, participants will be taught Caring Acts of Leadership to improve well-being of providers, trainees, and patient outcomes.
Becoming a Caring Inspired Leader
Participants will talk about being authentic leaders. They will be guided to find their purpose for leadership. Participants will determine what values they want to drive their leadership and organizations. Each participant will begin to develop their leadership philosophy and how to communicate it to their followers. By understanding why they lead, participants will leave with a framework to guide their leadership moving forward.
Feedback
When is the last time you got meaningful feedback? Feedback is a gift, and it unleashes performance. Are you afraid to give feedback? Not sure when and how? This talk will provide tangible ways to deliver feedback individually. It will also describe ways as leaders to be able to more effectively receive feedback. The talk hits feedback from both angles allowing you and your organization to create a culture of feedback.
Delegation
Delegation is a sign of respect and value for those we lead. Effectively delegating says I trust you to do a good job and appreciate the work you do. Micromanaging on the other hand says I don’t trust you. Delegation is about empowering those you lead and creating growth opportunities for them. This talk will cover what should be delegated, what should be done by the leader, and what the leader and the team should maybe stop doing. The talk will outline a process for delegating and following up without micromanaging. Following the talk, leaders will feel empowered to delegate.
Caring as a Leader: A Key to Unlocking Innovation

Participants will develop a specific gameplan related to mentoring, coaching, and sponsorship.
